Tension and relinquishment
These are moments of beauty in the midst of the inherent entropy that is motherhood:
My daughters playing in the snow during a summer escape from Texas heat;
the ideal beauty of Ellsworth Kelly’s chapel contrasted by my entangled wrestling daughters;
the never-relenting laundry of a young family, brimming with unmet responsibility, looking interesting and beautiful anyways;
the captured moment of laughter following word of some cheeky school behavior;
the guaranteed momentariness of life, presented as a gorgeous scene passing by through a car window, only too fast to focus.
These are moments of personal teetering between tension and relinquishment.
